KHULNA, Aug 24, 2019 (BSS) – Janmashtami, the birth day of Lord Sri Krishna
and one of the biggest religious festivals of the Hindu community, was
celebrated here yesterday with much enthusiasm.
On the occasion, Khulna city and district unit Puja Udjapon Parisad brought
out a procession led by City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque that began from
Arjya Dharmasabha Temple in the city and paraded the main streets.
Special prayers were offered at different temples, seeking blessings for
the country, its people and the humanity, discussions were arranged and
prasads (food items) were distributed among the devotees.
A large number of Hindu community people participated in all the
programmes.
