‘Sonar Bangla’ is the best tribute to Bangabandhu: Jabbar

DHAKA, August 22, 2019 (BSS) – Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said the greatest tribute Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was to establish a ‘Sonar Bangla’, his cherished dream.

“Bangabandhu put a lot of effort to develop the nation by eradicating corruption and discrimination…The defeated forces killed him as they thought it was the best way to stop him…In continuance they tried to kill his worthy successor, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the 21 August grenade attack”, a press release quoted Jabbar.

He made the remarks while addressing as chief guest at a milad mahfil urganised by Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL) on the occasion of the 44th death anniversary of Bangabandhu.

He also said, “The defeated forces are still conspiring against Bangladesh so that we can never stand upright… and create a prosperous and affluent nation.”

He urged people of the country to cooperate with the government in its effort to develop the country into a flourishing one.

BCSCL chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmud presided over by the meeting..

Posts and Telecommunications Ministry Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswash also spoke at the meeting, among others.

Earlier, a prayer was held for Bangabandhu and his martyred family.
