DHAKA, May 17, 2018 (BSS)- Top Awami League leaders today turned down the possibility of defeating Awami League by any political force in the country, laying paramount importance on the unity of the organisation.

They said that there is no political force in the country which can defeat Awami League provided the party remains united. Awami League’s victory in Khulna City Corporation polls manifested the fact that there is no alternative to party unity, they added.

No one could foil Awami League’s victory in the next national election, the AL leaders said, speaking at a discussion at the auditorium of Krishibid Institute in city’s Khamarbari area.

AL organized the discussion marking the 38th Homecoming Day of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, AL Advisory Council Member and Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, AL Presidium Members Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury and Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, educationist Professor Dr Syed Anowar Hossain, columnist Abed Khan, AL Joint General Secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, AL Dhaka City South unit General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and AL Dhaka North unit General Secretary Sadek Khan, among others, addressed the discussion with AL Advisory Council Member and Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu in the chair.

In his speech, Obaidul Quader said the people of Bangladesh will reject BNP in the next general elections in a way they stayed away from that party in the Tuesday’s Khulna City Corporation (KCC) polls.

“The KCC polls proved that the votes of Awami League have increased in Khulna region like in other parts of the country,” he said.

Amir Hossain Amu said the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is being successfully materialized through the leadership of his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
