Killing of ’75, 21 Aug grenade attack interconnected: Palak

DHAKA, Aug 21, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said that the Grenade attack of 2004 and the brutal killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family in 1975 shares the same intention.

“The defeated Pakistani army and their collaborators wanted to take revenge by killing Bangabandhu along his full family members… but with the grace of almighty, they couldn’t kill Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana.

“The grenade attack of 21 August was another plot to kill the remaining successor of Bangabandhu,” he told a discussion at Singra in Natore.

The meeting was arranged by the Upazila Awami League marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and 15th anniversary of the grenade attack.

Palak said that as a worthy successor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to establish the ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation and urged the people to cooperate with the government.

Singra Upazila Awami League Chairman Advocate Sheikh Ohidur Rahman presided over by the meeting.
