DHAKA, Aug 21, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sentenced former officer-
in-charge (OC) of Goalanda Police Station of Rajbari Saiful Islam to total
fourteen years rigorous imprisonment in two cases filed over amassing illegal
wealth and concealing wealth statement.
Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam of the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 sentenced the
former OC and also handed down two-year imprisonment to his wife Zakia Islam
Anu in the case filed over amassing illegal wealth.
The court also fined Saiful total Taka 5.5 lakh, to suffer 2.5 more years
behind bars in default, and Taka one lakh to his wife, to three month jail in
default.
The court came up with the judgment in presence of the two convicts and
sent them to jail issuing conviction warrant.
