Bankers asked to perform duties with sincerity, honesty

 RAJSHAHI, May 16, 2018 (BSS) – Bankers were asked to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to ensure transparency and accountability in their jobs.

The call came in the closing session of a daylong workshop titled “Writing Observation of Internal Audit Activities and Report Preparation” in Rajshahi city yesterday afternoon.

Senior bankers at the workshop urged their subordinate audit officers to prepare their audit report with efficiency and neutrality to establish trust and confidence in all concerned in this regard.

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) organized the workshop at it’s headquarter of Laboratory of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division. Audit officers from all 18 zones of the bank took part in the workshop.

Managing Director Kazi Alamgir and Deputy Managing Director Bishnu Chandra Shaha addressed the session as chief and special guests respectively with General Manager (Audit, Accounts and Recovery) Saidur Rahman in the chair.

General Managers Rafiqul Alam Chowdhury, Mozammel Haque and Khandaker Golam Mostofa also spoke on the occasion.

Kazi Alamgir gave direction against involvement of the bank’s officers and employees in any corruption and irregularities in future.

He asked the audit officers to put in their level best efforts for 75 percent disposal of the existing internal audit objection by forthcoming June.

Alamgir mentioned that promotion of ICT based audit could be the vital means of quick disposal of audit objections with combating fraudulence in banking sector.

Large-scale ICT application is also important for making the banking transactions and other services transparent, time-fitting and client-friendly in the present era of globalisation, he added.
