Met office predicts rain with thunderstorms

 DHAKA, May 15, 2018 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours ending 9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions,” said a met bulletin issued this morning here.

Moreover, a few places over Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions at isolated places over the country may see moderately heavy to heavy falls and hails in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today, the bulletin added.

Seasonal low lies over South Bay while trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it added.

The maximum temperature was recorded 34.4 degrees celsius yesterday at Nikli in Dhaka division and today’s minimum temperature 19.5 degrees celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

The sun sets today at 6:34 pm and rises at 5:16 am tomorrow in the capital.
