DHAKA, Aug 14, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) is going
to start buying rawhide of sacrificial animals immediately with the fixed
price.
A commerce ministry statement today said the BTA has decided to collect the
rawhide in response to the call of ministry before the scheduled time.
The commerce ministry has been reviewing the ongoing situation on the
rawhide with the BTA for the convenient of people.
The ministry requested the BTA to start collecting the rawhide urgently
before the previously fixed date on August 20, the statement said.
Considering the ongoing market situation in the country, the BTA announced
its decision of buying rawhide immediately, it added.
Meanwhile, the traders and preservers have been urged to follow the
appropriate process to preserve the rawhide locally to prevent the valuable
resource from any damage.
The commerce ministry has also directed the Divisional Commissioners,
Deputy Commissioners and Upazila Nirbahi Officers to extend necessary
cooperation to the concerned people, said the statement.
