BHF gets Ajay Kumar Bansal as adviser coach

DHAKA, Aug 9, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) got Indian
coach Ajay Kumar Bansal as their adviser coach for the U-21 women’s hockey
team ahead of the Junior Women’s AHF Cup scheduled to be held on September 9-
15 in Singapore.

Ajay is expected to arrive in the city on Thursday (August 15) to work with
the women’s hockey team. Apart from women’s team, Ajay will also work in the
preliminary camp for the Junior Asia Cup to be held next year in Dhaka.

The 60-year old coach is one of the experienced coaches in India. He
received the “Dronacharya Award”, which was officially given for outstanding
coaching in sports and games in India. Ajay Kumar Bansal is working with the
Indian national hockey team and women’s team and also has been working for
the hockey’s development of India.

The BHF general secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed commenting about Ajay
said: “Ajay Kumar Bansal is the one of the most experienced coaches of India
as well as the sub continent … the BHF has the old relation with him.”

He said Ajay’s would mainly focus to prepare the Singapore-bound women’s
team. Though he is coming for 15 days but the BHF would try to extend his
tenure more so that the coach can give more time to the U-21 men’s team as
well.

The women’s hockey team will report to the camp on August 15 while the
preliminary camp of the U-21 men’s team will begin on August 18.
