PMO officials greet PM on Bangabandhu satellite launching

 DHAKA, May 12, 2018 (BSS) – The officials of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) today extended their heartiest greetings to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of successful launching of Bangladesh’s first-ever communication satellite Bangabandhu-I into orbit.

The PMO officials led by PM’s Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman greeted the premier by handing over a bouquet to her at her official Ganabhaban residence here this afternoon.

PM’s Military Secretary Major General Mian Md Zainul Abedin, PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hassan and Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim were present on the occasion, among others.

Meanwhile, the officials of the PMO Press Wing led by Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim greeted Sheikh Hasina by presenting a bouquet to her at Ganabhaban.

Bangabandhu-I was successfully launched in the early hours of today, making Bangladesh’s debut in the global space society.

The historic event took place at 2.14 am Bangladesh time when the country’s first geostationary communication satellite started its voyage towards orbit from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, the USA.
