DHAKA, May 12, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the launching of satellite ‘Bangabandhu-1’ into space added another milestone of success to Bangladesh’s continuous march forward.

“Bangladesh entered into a new era becoming a proud member of satellite club and all the achievements of winning space go to the architect of Digital Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said in a statement here.

Quader said the achievement came through round-the-clock supervision and direction of Prime Minister’s Information and Communication Technology Affairs Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

He said Awami League won the election in 2008 with the dream of ‘Digital Bangladesh’. Then a digital revolution has taken place in every sector of the country, he added.

The AL general secretary said the satellite ‘Bangabandhu-1’ will play a significant role to become a ‘Digital Bangladesh’.

He congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed Joy and the Post and Telecommunication Ministry for the successful launching of satellite ‘Bangabandhu-1’.

Quader also thanked all involved in the launching process.
