KURIGRAM, May 11, 2018 (BSS) – AKM Maidul Islam, MP of Kurigram-3 constituency, died of old age complication in the capital on Thursday night.
The Jatiya Party MP died at United Hospital at 11:40 pm at the age of 78, family sources said.
Maidul Islam, also a former minister, was born on May 29, 1940. He was first elected from Kurigram-3 seat in 1979 and performed as a minister in the Post, Telecommunication Ministry, Mineral Resources Ministry and the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry.
Later, he was also elected as a member of parliament from the same constituency in 1996, 2008 and 2014.
