DHAKA, May 09, 2018 (BSS)- Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed today said elections need to be held in DUCSU, halls and other educational institutions as such elections help develop new leadership in the country.
“New leadership will be created with the ideology of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Youths are the asset of the nation, they should go ahead with ideology of Bangabandhu,” said Tofail while speaking at a roundtable discussion here.
He said the next parliament election will be held under the present government.
There is no scope to raise question about the present election commission as this commission has been formed through a search committee, he said, adding that this commission will conduct the next national election as per the constitution.
Hasumonir Pathshala organized the discussion with its president Marufa Akhter Popy in the chair.
Former food minister Dr Abdur Razzak, pro-vice chancellor of National University Prof Dr Md Mashiur Rahman, whip of JS Iqbalur Rahim, joint general secretary of Awami League Abdur Rahman and additional inspector general of police Mokhlesur Rahman, among others, took part in the discussion.
