DHAKA, May 7, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has highlighted the role of parliament members in removing trade inequality, saying that trade inequality needs to be removed for mutual benefits of different countries.
“We are dependent on each other for economic development in this globalized era . . . parliament members should play strong role to remove trade barriers for mutual benefits of all,” said Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury while speaking at a workshop in Singapore today.
Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) organised the RSIS-WTO Parliamentarians Workshop 2018 at a hotel in Singapore. Speaker of Singapore parliament Tan Chuan-Jin inaugurated the three-day event, according to information received here today.
Some 50 parliament members and experts from 22 countries are taking part in the workshop.
After the inaugural session, Dr Shirin exchanged greetings with Singapore parliament speaker and invited Tan Chuan-Jin to visit Bangladesh.
A delegation of the Jatiya Sangsad, including Begum Wasika Ayesha Khan, MP, is attending the workshop.
