DHAKA, May 7, 2018 (BSS) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today stayed for eight weeks of the High Court (HC) order that had declared illegal a provision of Public Servant Retirement (Amendment) Act, 2013.

The said provision had increased the retirement age of the Freedom Fighter (FF) government employees from 59 years to 60 years.

Chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order allowing a government plea filed in this regard.

“As a result of this apex court order, the retirement age for the Freedom Fighter public servants will remain 60 years,” additional attorney general Murad Reza said.
