Minhajul vows to continue good work if given new contract

DHAKA, July 23, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu claimed that had had done fairly well in his tenure, which came to an end in the last June.

As Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to announce whether they would continue with Nannu as the chief selector, the former skipper said he would try to do better than the past if he is given an extension.

To prove his credential, he presented a data, stating that the performance graph of the Bangladesh national team, High Performance (HP) unit and other aged level was higher than the past during his tenure.

“I have been in the selection panel for three years [firstly as selector, then chief selector]. I think I have done quite well,” Nannu told the reporters here on Tuesday.

“I have worked with the HP team, they are quite good and also worked with the A team. They have play lot of matches. National team has also played good enough. If you look at the last year’s performance we have won 52% of the matches. It’s a big achievement. We have improved our rankings,” he added.

“We have done well in the longer version too. If I am given another opportunity of course I will do something better.”

Nannu however said the board is yet to talk to him regarding his contract after it has expired.

“It’s a board decision, it depends on them that who they will select. If I continue of course I will try to do well.”
