MUNSHIGANJ, July 22, 2019 (BSS) – A father was stabbed to death allegedly by his mentally-ill son in Senpara Durgabari area of Sholghar union under Sreenagar upazila in the district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Shahed Ali, 60, of Sholghar union in the upazila.
Police and local sources said that the victim’s son Zahid Hasan was a
mentally-imbalanced person.
Officer-in-Charge(OC) of Sreenagar Police Station Yunus Ali said, Shahed
Ali was preparing to go to Dhaka after Fazr prayers and when he went to the
courtyard of the house his son Zahid Hasan, 27, attacked his father with a
sharp weapon around 5:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information police recovered the body and sent it to Munshiganj General
Hospital for autopsy, OC said.
Police arrested Zahid Hasan from the spot.
Police was preparing to file a case in this regard, OC added.
