RAJSHAHI, July 18, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today convicted a man and sentenced him to death on charge of slaughtering his wife to death in the city three years back.
Metropolitan Session Judge OHM Iliash Hossain found him guilty of the charge beyond doubt and pronounced the verdict in his presence in the court this noon.
The convict identified as Aynal Haque, 30, son of Ekramul Haque of Baya Kholabari village under Shahmukhdum Police Station in the city was also fined Taka 50,000.
Referring to the prosecution story, in brief, Public Prosecutor Abdus Salam told the journalists that the accused had slaughtered his wife Bulbuli Khatun, 25, to death in broad day light on April 16, 2016.
On information, police arrested him from the spot on the same day.
Joynal Ali, father of the victim, had lodged a case with the police
station and police after completing investigation pressed charge accusing the man.
