KHULNA, July 17, 2019 (BSS)- Khulna Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque has urged for creating mass awareness against women and children oppression, rape, drug abuse and militancy.
Mayor Khaleque said this in a human chain program at city’s Picture Palace intersection here today.
Different socio-cultural organizations organized the program with a call to build a society free from drug, women and children repression, terrorism and militancy.
Talukder Khaleque urged everybody to boycott criminals and cut off all social relationship with them as they impede country’s development.
Mayor emphasized on reform of the law to ensure stringent punishment of the criminals involve with repression on women and children, rape and drug trading.
Swadhinata Sangbadik Forum, Khulna Union of Journalists, Khulna Television Reporters Unity and TV Camera Journalists Association jointly organized the program.
Swadhinata Sangbadik Forum President Freedom Fighter Mokbul Hossain Mintu chaired the meeting while chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid was present as the chief guest.
Leaders of Khulna Football Association, Khulna Lawyers Association, Khulna City Puja Udjapon Parishad, Khulna Sramik League and senior journalists spoke among others on the occasion.
