76.38 pc HSC pass in Rajshahi Board

RAJSHAHI, July 17, 2019 (BSS) – The pass percentage in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in Rajshahi Education Board is 76.38 this year, up by 9.87 percent than that of last year.

A total of 6,729 students including 3,188 girls secured GPA-5 among the total passed students in the examination this year.

The board authority announced the results at a press conference in the conference hall here this noon with Prof Dr Anarul Haque Pramanik, controller of examinations of the board, in the chair.

He told the journalists that the girls (81.21 pc) did better results than the boys (72.32 pc) this year.

The result sheet shows the number of 100 pc passed colleges is 34 while not a single student came out successful from seven colleges.

Twenty-two visual impaired students appeared in the examinations and eighteen of them become successful. Twelve physically challenged students came out successful among total 19 appeared ones.

A total of 1,48,672 students including 67,850 girls appeared in the examinations in 197 centres from 758 educational institutions in eight districts under the education board, said Prof Pramanik.

Previous year’s pass percentage was 66.51 while the number of GPA-5 obtained students was 4,138 including 1,904 girls, he added.
