One-stop service centre to be launched within 5-month: Salman

DHAKA, July 16, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman today said the government will launch “One Stop Service (OSS) Centre” within the next four to five months aiming to providing all the necessary services to the investors in a single window.

“Like readymade garment sector, the other sectors will get same facilities for export diversification. Besides, technical institutions will be set up at upazila level for new entrepreneurs,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the workshop on “Export Product Diversification in Bangladesh” at Paltan Tower in the city.

International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) jointly organised the workshop.

ERF President Saiful Islam Dilal presided over the workshop while Senior Economist of the World Bank Group M Masrur Reaz, Private Sector Specialist of the World Bank Group Hosna Ferdous Sumi and ERF General Secretary SM Rashidul Islam, among others, delivered speeches on the occasion.

Salman said Bangladesh will enter into a new era by introduction of the full-fledged ‘One Stop Service’ so that the country can make a positive change in the ‘Ease of Doing Business’.

He said the World Bank will declare the ‘ease of doing business’ ranking at the end of October this year. “I hope that Bangladesh position will be below in 100,” he added.
