BCB XI to take on Dr DY Pati CA in Bengaluru Tuesday

DHAKA, July 15, 2019 (BSS)- In a bid to win their first game, the visiting Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI will face off Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy in their 2nd four-day match of the ongoing Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah Memorial Cricket Tournament, considered as Mini Ranji Trophy, on Tuesday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

Led by Mominul Haque, BCB XI performed well in their first game against Vidarbha Cricket Association but ended up in a draw last week even though they took the first innings lead.

Thanks to 169 from captain Mominul Haque and a 118-run knock from youngster Nazmul Hossain Shanto, BCB XI piled up a gigantic 500-7 before declaring the first innings.

Taijul Islam then helped the earn a 147-run lead, claiming 8-89 as Vidarbha was bowled out for 353.

In the second innings, BCB XI were all out for 175 in 62 overs giving a tough winning target of 323 runs for Vidarbha on the last and final day. The local side scored 38-1 in 14 overs when the bails were drawn for the fourth and final day to settle for a draw.

After the first match, the BCB XI advanced to 2nd slot in the four-team Group B securing 3 points while KSCA Secretary XI topped the group list securing 6 points.

Among others, Vidarbha Cricket Association bagged one point while Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy team yet to open the account playing one matches each.

BCB sent the team, comprising mostly with Test cricketers to give them a chance to acclimatize with the condition as they have a Test series coming in India in next November.
