Rain at most places likely

DHAKA, July 14, 2019 (BSS)- Most parts of the country are likely to
experience light to moderate rain or thunder showers in the next 24 hours
till 9 am tomorrow, a met forecast said.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary
gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka,
Sylhet and Chattogram divisions, at many places over Barishal and Rajshahi
divisions and at a few places over Khulna division with moderately heavy to
very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram & Sylhet
divisions”, Bangladesh Meteorological Department bulletin issued here today.

“Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay”, it
added.

As an outlook for next 72 hours the bulletin predicted that the rainfall
activity may increase at the end period.

However, the day temperature may rise by (1-2)oC and night temperature
may rise slightly over the country.

The highest temperature on Saturday was recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius at
Mongla under Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature is 24.0 degrees
Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

The highest rainfall for last 24 hours till 6pm today was recorded 220
mm in Sitakunda under Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6:50 pm today and rises at 5:17 am tomorrow in the
capital.
