BHOLA, July 20, 2017 (BSS) – Two fishermen drowned as a fishing trawler capsized in the River Meghna of Lalmohon upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased are identified as Kabir Hossain, 24, son of M Hossain and M Russell, 18, son of Fayejullah, residents of Fatemabad village of the upazila.
Police said some 12 fishermen on board a trawler went to the river for fishing early this morning. Suddenly the trawler capsized in the river due to strong wind.
All but two fishermen managed to swim ashore.
The sunken trawler was retrieved at 11am with the two bodies inside.
Officer-in-charge of Lalmohon Police Station M Humayun Kabir confirmed the incident.
