DHAKA, April 30, 2018 (BSS)- Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has no other way to get release from jail without facing the court procedures.
He came up with the remark while talking to reporters after attending a function at a city hotel.
Referring to BNP leaders’ allegation that the government has a strategy to confine Khaleda to jail till the next parliament polls, Quader said the government has not sent Khaleda to jail. She (Khaleda) has been imprisoned by the court verdict in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case, he added.
About Khaleda’s treatment, the minister said, physicians of medical board are providing all-out treatment to Khaleda and there is no negligence in this regard.
He alleged that BNP leaders are doing politics over the matter.
