Moderately heavy to heavy falls at many places: Met office

DHAKA, July 10, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
today said that most parts of the country is likely to experience Moderately
heavy to heavy rain fall in the next 24 hours till 9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram
and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and
Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over
the country”, said a met office bulletin issued here today.

“Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay”, it added.

The met office also predicted that the rainfall activity may decrease at
the end period in the next 72 hours.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over
the country.

The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 34.6 degrees Celsius in
Jashore under Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature was 24.5
degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Chattogram division.

The highest rainfall was recorded 259 mm in Kutubdia under Chattogram
division.

The sun sets at 6.50 pm today and rises at 5.16 am tomorrow in the
capital.
