Swisscontact is implementing a project ‘Uttoron-Skills’ for better life, funded by Chevron. Uttoron is a skills development project that will provide skills training to 1400 youths of the Sylhet region.

“Skilled and sincere workforces are needed for developing the country and their leadership would expose patriotism as well as sincerity. These workforces would build a future Bangladesh,” Nasrul said.

The Uttoron project is being implemented in Sylhet, Habiganj and Molvibazar districts during the last three years aimed at creating 1,400 employment facilities. Among others, Petrobangla Chairman Abul Mansur Mohammad Faizullah, President of Chevron Bangladesh Kevin Lyon and Country Director of Swisscontact Bangladesh Anirban Bhowmik spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the government has imported LNG from Qatar to meet the growing energy demand in the country. A floating storage and re-gasification unit or FSRU has carried 133,000 cubic metres of LNG from Qatar anchored near Moheshkhali. The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to ensure energy security in the country.
