Kamal asks law enforcers to put best efforts to eliminate militancy

RAJSHAHI, July 20, 2017 (BSS)-Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal here today asked law-enforcement agencies to put their level-best efforts to eliminate terrorism and militancy from the country.

“Eradication of all sorts of terrorism particularly, terror attacks and militancy, is the precondition of upholding peace and harmony in the society,” he said while addressing a rally after inaugurating the newly- constructed building of Premtali Police Investigation Centre in Godagari upazila as the chief guest.

Omor Faruque Chowdhury, MP, Abdul Wadud, MP, Akhter Jahan, MP, and Kazi Rozy, MP, and Deputy Inspector General of Police Khurshid Hossain also spoke at the event presided over by Superintendent of Police Moazzem Hossain Bhuiyan.

Kamal said collective efforts of law-enforcers and communities, including Imams, could be effective means to prevent crimes from the society.

“The present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is determined to uproot all sorts of terrorism and militancy from the county,” he said.

Kamal said the community people could help law enforcers by proving them with the information about criminals as they know well about location of the criminals, drug traffickers and traders of their respective localities.

He said all quarters should supplement the government efforts towards freeing the nation from the curse of militancy and terror attacks.

Terming the people, who are involved in militancy, secret and targeted killings, as the enemies of Islam, he stressed on united efforts of all concerned for resisting the evil forces.

Earlier, the minister inaugurated the building which was constructed at a cost of around Taka 1.60 crore.
