Shahjahan for promoting halal tourism with Arab nations

 DHAKA, April 23, 2018 (BSS) – Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal today said Bangladesh is keen to work with Arab nations for promoting religious and halal tourism worldwide.

The minister made the observation while opening the Bangladesh Pavilion at the 25th Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai, the UAE, according to a message received here today.

A total of 2,936 different tour and travel entities from 68 countries including Bangladesh are participating in the four-day fair, one of the largest tourism exposition in Middle East and North Africa.

Shahjahan is leading a five-member delegation, which includes Director of Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) Nikhil Ranjan Roy, at the fair attended by eight Bangladeshi tour operators.

After inauguration of the Bangladesh Pavilion, Shahjahan held bilateral meetings with tourism ministers of Sri Lanka, Mauritius and the Maldives.

During the meetings, the Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister discussed on various matters related to bilateral issue and mutual interest and invited his counterparts to visit Bangladesh.
