4-day Thai trade show begins in city today

 DHAKA, April 23, 2018 (BSS) – A four-day Thai trade show has begun today aiming to build relation, especially in trade, between the people of Bangladesh and Thailand.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed inaugurated the trade show as the chief guest titled “Thailand Week 2018” by cutting the ribbon at 11 am this morning at Sonargaon hotel in the city.

Ministry of Commerce, Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Royal Thai Government and Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka are jointly hosting the event that will continue till April 26.

About 45 Thai companies and 27 Bangladeshi companies which are either importers or agents of Thai products are taking part in the trade exhibition.

Main categories of the products that are being exhibited in the trade show includes auto parts, industrial equipment and hardware, tropical fresh fruit, food and beverage, houseware, gift and decorative items, stationary, baby products, garment, jewelry footwear, health and beauty product.

Minister Counsellor (commercial) of Royal Thai Embassy Suebsak Dangboonrueng and Thailand Ambassador to Bangladesh Panpimon Suwannaponse also spoke on the occasion.

The fair will remain open from 11 am to 9 pm every day while cultural functions performed by Thai artists also will be held every day during the fair.
