Robert Miller visits BAF, US Pacific Air Force joint exercise

DHAKA, June 24, 2019 (BSS) – US envoy in Bangladesh Earl Robert Miller
today visited six-day combined exercise between Bangladesh Air Force (BAF)
and the United States (US) Pacific Air Force tilted “Exercise Pacific Angel-
2019-1” being held at Lalmonirhat.

The joint exercise started yesterday with an opening ceremony held at
Lalmonirhat Kadamtola High School premises, an ISPR press release said here
today.

Air Officer Commanding of Bangladesh Air Force Base Birsreshto Matiur
Rahman Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam welcomed the US envoy on his
arrival.

Later, Miller visited medical camp organized at Kadamtola High School
premises and engineering camp raised at Fokirer Tokeya High School. He also
exchanged greetings with the teachers and students of the school.

The US envoy thanked all concerned authorities including Bangladesh Air
Force for overall help in conducting the exercise.

A total of 250 BAF members under the command of Group Captain Abbas Ali,
GUP, afwc, psc, GD(P) and 100 members of US Pacific Air Force under the
command of Major Christofer Falmer are participating in the exercise.

Besides, six doctors from Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand are also taking
part in the exercise.

In the exercise, 2000 people living adjacent to the BAF Maintenance and
Care Unit at Lalmonirhat are being provided with free medical treatment along
with knowledge on post disaster medical care.

The engineers from both the countries are providing assistance in
renovating and repairing of damaged and weak structure of selected five
schools of the area.
