DHAKA, June 20, 2019 (BSS) – The World Music Day will be observed across
the country like elsewhere in the globe tomorrow.

This year, a total of 120 countries will celebrate the day.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) will organise different programmes to
mark the Day.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid will inaugurate the cultural
programme as the chief guest by releasing balloons at the National Natyashala
Academy of BSA tomorrow evening.

Renowned singers will play music at the programme while other cultural
personalities will present.

A discussion will also be held at the National Natyashala Academy.

The World music day began in France in 1982, using the occasion of the
Summer Solstice (21 June) to celebrate music through street performances and
free concerts.

Since then it has gradually spread over many cities and countries
worldwide and is becoming known as World Music Day.
