Distressed, disabled students get support in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 19, 2017 (BSS)- Some students with special needs and distressed were given financial and kinds support for improving their living and livelihood condition.

Professional Social Workers Foundation (PSWF), a voluntary organization, distributed the education financial support to two students and foot sewing machines to four distressed girls at a simple ceremony at conference hall of Deputy Commissioner yesterday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Parvej Raihan addressed the distribution meeting as chief guest with PSWF President Mozammel Haque in the chair.

Deputy Director of Department of Social Service Rubina Yeasmin, Assistant Director Asaduzzaman Sarder, Social Workers Sahin Akter Rainy, Piar Baksha, Nazim Uddin and Joytuna Khatun also spoke.

Parvej Raihan said support distribution for distressed and people with disability is a successful initiative of the organization. He hoped that the beneficiaries will change fate after the best uses of the cash and kinds.

He said the present government has taken many steps including distressed and disable people allowance for the welfare of those.

“Considering their vulnerable condition, the government has increased their allowance and also number of beneficiaries from the current fiscal,” he said.
