UAE urged to invest in agro processing industries
DHAKA, June 19, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam has invited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for investing in agro processing industries in and importing fruits and vegetables from Bangladesh.
He made the call while hosting a working lunch in honour of visiting UAE Minister of State for Food Security Mariam Al Mheiri at the State Guest House Padma yesterday, a press release said here today.
The UAE State Minister invited the Bangladesh State Minister to visit the UAE when a discussion could be arranged with the top UAE investors in this regard.
They exchanged views on different issues related to bilateral relations and cooperation, particularly in the areas of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, agro-processing and other sectors of food security.
They also discussed on the mutual cooperation in the international fora for food security.
Mariam arrived Dhaka on Tuesday on an official visit.
