One held with 60-kg ganja in Rangpur
RANGPUR, June 19, 2019 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) seized 60-
kilogram of smuggled ganja and arrested an alleged drug trader from the
Domdoma Bridge point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway in the outskirts of the
city on Tuesday night.
“A special operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion
headquarters conducted a raid and challenged a speedy trolley there when the
driver-cum drug trader tried to escape the scene around 7:30 pm,” a press
release said today.
The elite force seized 60-kilogram of specially packed ganja, worth about
Taka 15-lakhand and arrested the drug trader and seized cash money, a mobile
phone set and the trolley from the spot.
The nabbed drug trader was identified as Md. Bablu Mian, 40, son of late
Khudha Bux of frontier village Balarhat Fulmoti in Fulbari upazila of
Kurigram districts.
During interrogation, the arrested person admitted his involvement with
trafficking of smuggled drugs and narcotics substances to different areas of
the country.
After filing a case in this connection, he was handed over to Tazhat Thana
police of Rangpur Metropolitan Police today, the release added.
