KHULNA, April, 18, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint Secretary Mahbub-ul- Alam Hanif today said people of the country did not want to see BNP in power again.

“BNP has already proved that their party as a corrupt party and people do not want to see ‘Howa Bhabhan’ from where Tareque Zia collected extortion from businessmen, contractors and different professional bodies,” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a delegate meeting of city and district units of Awami League held on Galyamary martyrdom premises in the city.

Criticising BNP leader Khandakar Mossarraf’s demand of Army deployment ahead of the KCC and Gazipur city corporation polls, Hanif said the Election Commission has already rejected their proposal.

Hanif said whenever Awami League was elected to power, the country witnessed massive development while destruction featured BNP rules as their motto was to plunder everything.

Terming Awami League’s (AL) logo ‘boat’ as the symbol of Bangladesh’s independence and development, he sought people’s support for the next election as well as the upcoming KCC and Gazipur polls.

Khulna voters had done mistake by voting existing BNP-backed mayor Mony in the last KCC poll, he said, expressing hope that they would not do the same thing as they had already understood their fault.

The AL leader urged people to vote for “boat” in the upcoming KCC election to keep up the current development spree.
