DHAKA, June 16, 2019 (BSS) – The government has announced holiday at 23
upazila areas where the fifth phase of upazila parishad election will be held
on June 18.
The Public Administration Ministry announced a general holiday in the
respective upazilas on June 18, issuing a gazette notification today.
The gazette declared holiday at the government, non-government, semi
government, institutions and educational institutions except public
examination centres on the occasion.
In the fifth phase, the election will be held in Nakla, Naldanga,
Kamarkhond, Sudarganj, Rangabali, Taltali, Gazipur Sadar, Narayanganj Bandar,
Madaripur sadar, Kalkali, Shayestaganj, Bansarampur, Bijoynagar, Cumilla
Adarsha sadar and Sadar south, Noakhali sadar, Paba, Purbadhola, Jamalganj,
Katiadi, Mothbaria and Chhagalnaiya upazilas.
Election to Dumuria upazila in Khulna, which was postponed earlier, will be
held on the same day.
The polling will take place from 8 am to 4 pm without any break in the
respective upazilas, Election Commission (EC) sources said.
The Election Commission has taken all necessary preparations for the 5th
phase election, the sources added.
All types of rallies, processions and showdowns have been remained
prohibited in the election areas from last night.
