Govt working for country’s overall development: Speakers

 RAJSHAHI, April 16, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a function unanimously mentioned that the present government with dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for advancing the country.

They mentioned that successes in the fields of Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar, Ashrayian, Digital Bangladesh, Education Support, Women empowerment, power for all and social safety net have become visible which are being adjudged as indicators of attaining sustainable development goals.

Rajshahi Regional Station of Bangladesh Betar hosted the outstation programme titled “Sonali Swapner Deshe” relating to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Special Initiative” at Parijonpara Government Primary School under Mohanpur Upazila in the district on Sunday evening.

The discussion session was followed by a colourful cultural function. Large number of village-people both male and female enjoyed the function.

Ayen Uddin, MP, addressed the meeting as chief guest with Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Towhida Chowdhury in the chair.

Deputy Director General of Bangladesh Betar Shalahuddin Ahmed and its Regional Deputy Director Hassan Akhter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Anwar-Ul- Halim and local Awami League leaders Advocate Abdus Salam, Mofij Uddin Kabiraj, Iqbal Hossain and Abdul Mannan also spoke.

During his keynote presentation, Akbarul Hassan Millat, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh, narrated successes of the special initiatives in 10 major sectors including community clinics and investment-friendly atmosphere.

Ayen Uddin mentioned that development achieved in education, agriculture, health, poverty alleviation, social safety-net, power generation, road communication, women and children development, women empowerment, digitisation, ICT and other sectors are now being widely appreciated in both home and abroad.

He said the present government has attained remarkable success in all development fields.

Besides, he discussed successes achieved in improving diplomatic relations with international organisations and foreign countries, winning sea, disaster management, research works and rehabilitation of disabled with job quota and prevention of child labour.
