GAIBANDHA, June 11, 2019 (BSS) – The Agriculture Census-2019 has started in all the seven upazilas of the district with the theme “KrishiShumariShafal Kori, Sammriddha Bangladesh Gori”.
Office sources said all the 1,489 enumerators assigned by the district
statistics office (DSO) of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) are going to
the houses of the peoples and collecting information in prescribed form about
food grains, fisheries and livestock.
The enumerators are also collecting data on size of the agriculture
households, land use, size of the cultivated land, number of cattle and
poultry, agricultural machineries, food security, fisheries and forests from
the district, they said.
“The enumerators are performing their duties in the district under 40 zonal
officers assigned by the BBS,” BBS sources said, adding that their overall
activities are being supervised by upazila statistics officer.
Deputy Director of District Statistics Office Rezwana Kabir said all the
enumerators were imparted need-based trainings for doing the work of the
census that would continue here like other parts of the country till June 20,
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Matin inaugurated the Agriculture
Census-2019 in the district on June 9.
