Four killed in road accidents in Laxmipur and Sherpur

Laxmipur, June 10, 2019 (BSS)- A businessman Sumon Hossain, 38 and his nephew Tamim, 14 were killed in a road accident occurred at Ramgonj here today.

The accident took place due to head-on collision between a motorcycle and a locally made motorized vehicle ‘nasimon’.

Sumon was identified as son of late Abdul Mannan of Iyen Nagar village of Ramgonj Upazila and owner of a dress and fashion shop of the Upazila.

Motorcyclist Tamim died on the spot while Sumon succumbed to injuries on way to hospital, police said.

Our Bogra correspondent said two persons including one woman died in two separate road accidents at Sherpur.

Two more people sustained injuries in the accidents who are now undergoing treatment at Bogra Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College.

The deceased were identified as Farid Uddin, 35, son of Shahdat Hossain of Charvelly village of Shahjahanpur and Dulali Begum, 30, wife of Shafiqul Islam of Kazir Chowra village of Lalmonirhat Sadar Upazila.

Police said the first accident took place at Dashmile area of Sherpur Upazila when a truck knocked down a Dhaka bound bus from back side. Passenger of the bus Dulali Begum died on the spot while two passengers injured critically.

Police seized the truck, but its driver and helper fled away.

Other accident happened Chhonka area of Sherpur Upazila on Bogra-Rangpur highway when a bus and truck collided head on. A day labourer who was engaged in the maintenance work of the road was crushed under the wheel of the bus.
