UNODC to help Bangladesh in establishing nat’l drug rehab center

DHAKA, May 29, 2019 (BSS) – United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) today assured Bangladesh to establish National Drug Rehabilitation Center and provide training to concerned officials in tackling corruption.

The global body in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime made the pledges during the meeting between its Director General and Bangladesh Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq in Vienna, Austria, a press release said here.

The meeting took place on the sideline of 10th session of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Implementation Review Group (IRG).

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood, Senior Secretary of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Mohammad Shahidul Haque and Bangladesh envoy in Austria Md Abu Zafar were present on the occasion, among others.
