BFUJ demonstration tomorrow for 9th wage board award
DHAKA, May 29, 2019 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) has decided to hold a demonstration in front of Jatiya Press Club tomorrow to press home their 14-point demand including the gazette notification of the 9th wage board award and enactment of a mass media law.
In a written statement, BFUJ President Mollah Jalal and Secretary General Shaban Mahmood announced the programme and said that they will stage demonstration at 11 am tomorrow.
The BFUJ leaders called its members to join the demonstration programme for issuing gazette notification for the ninth wage board, putting an end to unlawful termination of media workers, payment of regular salary and bonus before Eid-ul-Fitr and immediate enactment of new law for the welfare of the journalists.
It also demanded that media workers who have been sacked recently to be paid all of their dues as per rules of the current wage board.
