56 poor students get scholarship in Bhola

BHOLA, May 28, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 56 students from poor families were given scholarship under Sadar upazila of the district here today.

Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha (GJUS) in cooperation with PKSF organized the scholarship giving ceremony at its office today.

Chairman of Bhola District Parishad Abdul Momin Tulu addressed the
function as the chief guest while GJUS Executive Director Zakir Hossain Mahin
presided over it.

Each student received a cheque of Taka 12,000.

At the function, speakers said despite a number of challenges,
Bangladesh has some remarkable and praiseworthy achievements in the education
sector.

Distribution of free textbook among the students of primary and
secondary levels, increased enrolment rate and eradicating gender inequality
in primary and secondary education have already been acknowledged in
different international forums, they added.
