Heat wave likely to continue till tomorrow

DHAKA, May 28, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today said that the existing heat wave over some places in the country may continue in the next 24 hours as of 9am tomorrow.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Barishal, Patuakhali and Noakhali and it may continue”, said a Met office bulletin issued here today.

“Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country”, it added.

Also, the met office predicted rain saying, ” Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and the regions of Jashore & Kushtia”.

However, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and today’s minimum temperature 21.0 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh and Netrokona under Mymensingh division.

The sun sets at 06:40pm today and rises at 05:12am tomorrow in the capital.
