Discussion on Bangabandhu’s birth centenary held

DHAKA, May 26, 2019 (BSS) – A discussion was held today on birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, with renewed call to take the ideology of the great leader closer to the people.

Pro-liberation social and cultural organization ‘Gourab 71’ organized the function with its president Monirul Islam Moni in the chair. Gourab 71 general secretary FM Shahin conducted the discussion.

Sammilita Sangskritik Jote president Golam Quddus, Awami Swechhasebak League president Molla Abu Kawser, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) prosecutor Tureen Afroz, GTV and Sarabangla.net Editor in Chief Syed Ishtiaque Reza, NBR Commissioner (Income Tax) Md Asaduzzaman, Jubo Mohila League vice-president Koheli Quddus Mukti, valiant Freedom Fighter Ruhul Amin Mazumder and Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist Manoranjan Ghoshal addressed the discussion, among others.

“It is very satisfying to see the enthusiasm marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation. We have to let the youths know about the thinking of Bangabandhu, his sacrifices for the people and their welfare. We have to love our country and keep ourselves free from corruption to uphold his ideology,” Golam Quddus said.

ICT prosecutor Dr Tureen Afroz in her speech said Bangabandhu is not just a name, it’s an institution.

“We have to know Bangabandhu to nurture this institution, and we have to know Bangabandhu through his works. The main thing is whether we are upholding his real ideology,” she said.

Swechhasebak League president Molla Abu Kawser said there is no place for militancy in this country of Bangabandhu and the country is moving forward under the leadership of his worthy daughter Sheikh Hasina.
