5-day work BSS-11shop on manuscript begins at DU

DHAKA, April 5, 2018 (BSS) – A five-day long workshop on “Manuscript” organized by the Dhaka University Library began here today at the Library’s Cyber Centre of the university.

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.

Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for deciphering of manuscript to upgrade the quality of education and research at the university.

Terming the manuscripts as the most valuable resources of human civilization the VC said, “We have to preserve these manuscripts in proper ways.”

Acting Librarian Professor Dr. S M Zabed Ahmed presided over the function while Acting Librarian (Planning and Development) Syeda Farida Parveen delivered welcome speech. Deputy Librarian Syed Ali Akbar gave vote of thanks.

Students from various departments of DU are participating in the workshop.
