RAJSHAHI, May 23, 2019 (BSS)- Speakers at a participatory discussion here urged all concerned to extend their whole-hearted cooperation towards successful implementation of the education assistance programme for the sake of qualitative and quantitative improvement of the education sector.
They mentioned that the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust Fund has been founded for welfare of the poor and meritorious students. Utmost emphasis should be given on proper implementation of the trust fund so that the target group of students can derive its total benefits.
The observation came at a daylong ‘stipend implementation related training workshop’ at circuit house conference hall here yesterday. District administration and district education office jointly organized the workshop discussing and devising ways and means on how to implement the stipend programme successfully.
Managing Director of Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust Fund ABM Zakir Hossain addressed the workshop as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Alamgir Kabir spoke on the occasion as special guest while District Education Officer Nasir Uddin welcomed the participants.
Anwar Hossain, Assistant Director of Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust Fund, illustrated the aims and objectives of the fund and its activities and implementation strategy in his multimedia presentation.
Zakir Hossain urged all the officials, teachers and other stakeholders to take steps to properly provide stipends and other assistance among poor and meritorious students under the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust Fund.
He told the meeting that the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for generating competent workforce through overall development of the education sector.
All the district and upazila level officials, teachers and others concerned should supplement the government endeavor through discharging their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to attain the cherished goal, he added.
