World Autism Day observed in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, April 3, 2018 (BSS)-The 11th World Autism Awareness Day was observed here on Monday with a call to bring persons with disabilities in the mainstream of society.

Social Services Department and the district administration jointly observed the day through a holding rally and discussion meeting.

Holding placards and festoons in hand, children, officials and NGO activities joined the rally aimed at creating awareness among people about the persons with disabilities particularly the autistic one. The rally paraded different streets of the town.

The rally ended in a discussion meeting in the conference room of local Circuit House.

Deputy Director, Social Services Department, Narsingdi Mohammad Shahidul Islam chaired the discussion and presented the welcome speech.

Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Seyda Ferhana Kawnine addressed the meeting as chief guest while Police Super Narsingdi Shafullah-Al Mamon and Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Abdul Awal were the special guests.

Among others, District Children Affairs Officer Khalilur Rahman Sajib, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Sayed Amirul Islam Samim, executive director of PAPRI Abdul Based and a number of NGO representatives addressed the meeting.
