DHAKA, April 2, 2018 (BSS) – The Cabinet has congratulated Bangladesh U- 15 Women’s football team for winning the trophy of the four-nation Jockey CGI Youth Football Tournament in Hong Kong yesterday (Sunday).
The Cabinet adopted a resolution congratulating the football team before weekly cabinet meeting at Prime Minister’s Office here today, said NM Ziaul Alam, secretary of the Cabinet Division (coordination and reforms) while briefing reporters at Bangladesh Secretariat.
Bangladesh Un-15 women’s team became undefeated champions in the four- nation tournament beating hosts Hong Kong 6-0 in the final game.
Bangladesh defeated Malaysia in 10-1 goals in their opening match and thumped Iran in 8-1 in the second match.
The Cabinet recalled the victory of the U-15 women team in the SAF games in 2015 and 2016.
Most of the players of the team groomed through Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament, the cabinet said in the resolution.
The women’s football team through their win in various international events have brightened Bangladesh’s image abroad, the resolution added.
