Bangladesh begins journey of innovation: Jabbar

DHAKA, May 17, 2019 (BSS) – Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said Bangladesh has started the journey of innovation to ensure its stake in the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).

“Innovation is the base of the 4IR. People of this land had failed to be part of the last three industrial revolutions. Now, Bangladesh has started the journey of innovation and the talent of innovative youth has to be engaged in it to become successful,” he said while addressing the closing ceremony of a start-up activities.

The start-up “My Innovation, My Dream” was organized with the association of CRI and Young Bangla at Sheikh Hasina Youth Development Training Centre in Savar on Thursday evening.

The minister said the equilibrium of innovation is being changed in the world and the countries which were leading the three industrial revolutions could not secure leadership position in the 4IR.

Mentioning that innovation was never prioritized in Bangladesh in the past, Mustafa Jabbar said, “Our market is import oriented by culture, but now the scenario is being changed as Bangladesh has started the journey of innovation under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

“If the country could engage its 65 percent youth in the innovation, the world would see a phenomenal Bangladesh in future,” he noted. Alongside the innovation, the minister also emphasized on the copy right and protection of the resources produced through innovation.
